Hoar Cross Hall, Grade II listed country house hotel in Hoar Cross, United Kingdom
Hoar Cross Hall is a country house in Jacobean style located in Staffordshire, featuring distinctive gables, cupolas, and numerous decorative chimneys spread across its expansive estate. The building combines architectural elements from different periods within its overall design.
The hall was built between 1862 and 1871 under architect Henry Clutton and replaced an earlier manor from the 15th century on the same site. This construction marked a major redesign of the original estate grounds.
The Long Gallery on the north side still reflects Tudor traditions and once served as an indoor space where the family enjoyed leisure and entertainment.
The property now operates as a hotel and spa with guest rooms, treatment facilities, restaurants, and spaces for events and conferences. Visitors should note that this is an active business establishment with designated guest areas.
During the 1970s, medieval banquets were held here using armor from a private collection, drawing visitors to the estate. These unusual events gave the property a distinctive reputation at that time.
