Inglewood, Cheshire, English country house in Ledsham, England.
Inglewood is a country house in Ledsham featuring half-timbered walls, stone details, and brick chimneys beneath a slate roof in the Arts and Crafts style. The building presents eight bays on its east front and five bays on both its south and west sides, with a balcony on the south elevation overlooking the gardens.
The house was built in 1909 for Frederick H. Fox, a wealthy insurance businessman from Liverpool, and later became a residence of the Gordon family. It received its official dating certification in 1915 and has since been listed at Grade II.
The house takes its name from the wooded landscape that surrounds it. The terraced gardens and wooden pergola create spaces where visitors can experience the quiet rhythm of country life.
The building is easily viewed from multiple angles, with the south-facing balcony offering the best vantage point for seeing the architectural details and garden views. The surrounding landscape provides natural orientation for exploring the property's exterior.
The house now operates as a hotel, blending its original architectural character with modern hospitality functions. This transformation shows how historic homes can adapt to new purposes while keeping their distinctive features intact.
