Islington Museum, Local history museum in Finsbury, London, United Kingdom
The Islington Museum showcases permanent exhibitions about the London Borough of Islington through historical objects, photographs, and interactive displays in the Finsbury Library basement.
The museum, which opened in 2008 with a £1 million Heritage Lottery Fund grant, replaced the previous institution at Islington Town Hall under council management.
The permanent collection includes items from the 1700s, displaying everyday objects related to childhood, fashion, healthcare, and wartime experiences in the Islington area.
Located at 245 St John Street, the museum offers free admission Monday through Saturday, with convenient access from Angel and Farringdon stations.
The museum exhibits a bust of Vladimir Lenin and holds book covers modified by Joe Orton and Kenneth Halliwell in their permanent collection.
