Korova, Music venue in Liverpool, England
Korova was a music venue spanning multiple floors with dedicated areas for live performances, dining, and a Victorian-style bar fitted with ceiling-mounted television screens. The space combined performance, dining, and social areas throughout its different levels.
The venue opened in 2005 on Fleet Street through a partnership between restaurateur Rob Gutmann, promoter Steve Miller, and members of the band Ladytron. After relocating to Hope Street in 2009, fire damage to the building occurred in 2010.
The venue took its name from Stanley Kubrick's film A Clockwork Orange, reflecting the artistic vision that attracted musicians and creative people. It served as a launching point where emerging artists performed before moving to larger stages.
The multi-floor design allowed visitors to move between live music areas and more relaxed spaces throughout the night. Exploring the different levels helped you discover various performance areas and the distinctive bar environment.
The original location on Fleet Street appeared on the cover of Arctic Monkeys' debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. This connection made it a recognizable spot for music fans familiar with that iconic album cover.
