Keats House, Literary house museum in Hampstead, England.
Keats House is a two-story Regency residence in Hampstead with exhibition rooms containing original manuscripts, letters, and personal belongings from its most notable occupant. The rooms display period furnishings and items that provide insight into daily life during the early 1800s.
The residence became the home of a renowned poet who lived there between 1818 and 1820 during a period of intense creative work. This was a formative time when several of his most significant literary works were produced.
The house carries the name of its most celebrated resident and reveals how a 19th-century poet lived and worked in his daily surroundings. Visitors can observe the furnishings and objects that filled the rooms during his occupation.
The museum is located in a residential area and is easily accessible on foot, with good bus connections nearby. Parking on-site is limited, so arriving by public transport is recommended.
An ancient mulberry tree grows in the garden, predating the residence by more than two centuries and having occupied the ground long before its most noted resident arrived. This tree remains one of the oldest living features of the property and draws visitors who feel a connection to its roots.
