Keith's Chapel, Private chapel in Mayfair, London, England

Keith's Chapel was a private chapel on Curzon Street in Mayfair, built in the traditional 18th-century English style. The building offered a wedding venue that differed from the usual church formalities of the time.

Alexander Keith established the chapel after his exclusion from the Church of England in 1742. He operated it until 1754 as a venue for marriages outside church authority.

The chapel served as a gathering place where people from all walks of life came to marry without following standard church requirements. This made it a well-known destination for couples seeking quick and uncomplicated ceremonies.

The location sits in a wealthy neighborhood and is easy to find, but today it is no longer accessible for visits. Its historical importance can be understood mainly through the surrounding architecture and street setting.

The chapel became known for marriages taking place at unusual hours, such as midnight. A notable wedding happened there in 1752 using an unconventional ring fashioned from curtain material.
