Llangoed Hall, Country house hotel in Bronllys, GB.
Llangoed Hall is a hotel in a Georgian mansion located in Bronllys near the Brecon Beacons. The building preserves a Jacobean porch on the south side and offers individually decorated rooms with traditional furnishings.
The site was originally known as Llangoed Castle and was transformed into a residence in 1632. In 1847 ownership changed hands when the Macnamara family lost it to settle a gambling debt.
The interior displays an extensive art collection including works by Whistler, Augustus John, and Walter Sickert. These artworks shape the character of the rooms and reveal the taste of previous owners.
Rooms are decorated with traditional Laura Ashley furnishings and the hotel sits near hiking areas. Visitors can easily reach the Brecon Beacons National Park or explore the surrounding countryside.
The property was passed on in 1847 through a card game loss when the Macnamara family could not pay their gambling debts. This dramatic episode shapes the story of the place to this day.
