Littlecote House, Grade I listed Tudor manor in Ramsbury, Great Britain
Littlecote House is a Tudor country house in Ramsbury, Great Britain, now operating as a hotel. The red brick building spreads across formal gardens and contains rooms in both the historic wings and contemporary extensions.
The de Calstone family built the first structure here in the 13th century. The present house mostly dates from the 16th century, when the Darrell family reshaped the estate.
The estate contains England's remaining Cromwellian Chapel and includes a Roman villa with a religious complex open for archaeological exploration.
The estate has a heated indoor pool, fitness center, spa area, and tennis courts. Rooms offer Wi-Fi access, and several lounges are available for guests to relax.
In the 1970s, archaeologists discovered a Roman villa on the grounds with well-preserved mosaic floors. The complete 4th-century floor mosaic shows mythological scenes and religious themes from that period.
