Longlands is a residential district occupying the northwestern part of Bradford city center, bounded by Sunbridge Road, Grattan Road, Westgate, and City Road. Today it features three remaining modified tenement blocks from the Garden City movement, alongside industrial buildings and office spaces.
In the late 1800s, the area was filled with tightly packed terraced houses where many people lived under harsh conditions. These crowded living situations later prompted the city to pursue housing reforms and new building approaches.
The neighborhood keeps its Irish connections alive through venues like the Harp of Erin pub and the Bradford Irish Club. Walking through the streets, you can still see how this cultural presence shapes the character of the area.
