Mid-Norfolk Railway

The Mid-Norfolk Railway extends across 17.5 miles through the Norfolk countryside, connecting the market towns of Dereham and Wymondham with regular train services.

The railway line, established in 1847 as part of the Norfolk Railway network, ceased passenger operations in 1964 before reopening as a heritage attraction in the 1990s.

The railway stations feature museums, exhibits, and collections that document the transportation development of Norfolk through preserved locomotives, carriages, and railway artifacts.

Visitors can purchase tickets online or at stations for regular services, special events, locomotive driving experiences, and themed journeys throughout the operating season.

The railway maintains an active connection to the national rail network at Wymondham, enabling freight operations alongside heritage services on its 11-mile operational track.
