Oak Hall, Grade II listed country house in Haslemere, England.
Oak Hall is a two-story country house in Haslemere with distinctive crenellated corner towers, symmetrical entrance blocks, and gables. The structure features high-quality brickwork complemented by stone dressings and tile-hung gables in the Elizabethan Revival style.
Scottish artist James Coutts Michie commissioned architect Theophilus Arthur Allen to design the house in 1910, completed in 1911 in the Elizabethan Revival style. The building was adapted for different purposes after its initial residential function came to an end.
The building served as an educational institution from 1925 to 2008, hosting the Oak Hall School founded by Miss Voy and Miss Keyte-Perry. During those decades, it was an important place for teaching children in the local area.
The property is now part of a retirement community with apartments and nursing care services for older people. Visitors should be aware that this is an active residential facility and access may be limited.
The house served as a filming location for the BBC television series 'Leave Us Kids Alone' during summer 2007 and was featured in one episode. These recordings documented the building's architectural details for a television audience.
