Newlyn Art Gallery, Art gallery in Newlyn, Cornwall
The glass pavilion of Newlyn Art Gallery provides panoramic views of Mount's Bay through a curtain wall leading to an outdoor seating area.
Established in 1895, the gallery was designed by James Hicks of Redruth and received financial support from John Passmore Edwards for the Newlyn School of Art.
The gallery presents exhibitions across two locations, with the main venue focusing on painting and drawing while The Exchange hosts large-scale contemporary installations.
The gallery maintains a dog-friendly policy, permitting leashed dogs throughout the space, and features a Studio Cafe on the first floor of the pavilion.
An undulating glass facade spans The Exchange building, incorporating a light display by Peter Freeman that changes according to exhibitions and seasonal variations.
