Peasholm Park, Grade II listed garden in Scarborough, England.

Peasholm Park is a 14-hectare garden in Scarborough featuring an artificial lake with a central island linked by Japanese-style bridges. Wooded areas surround the water and form the backbone of the landscape design.

The site was formerly part of the medieval Northstead estate and was acquired by Scarborough Corporation in 1911. This purchase transformed the land into a public recreational space for the community.

The grounds feature Japanese-inspired design with pagodas, ornamental cascades, and traditional bridges scattered throughout. Visitors encounter these architectural touches naturally while walking through the landscaped areas.

Start by heading to the lake and use it as your reference point to explore the glen walks and champion tree trail from there. Most visitors find it helpful to keep the water in sight as a navigational anchor while moving through the wooded sections.

Each summer the lake hosts Naval Warfare events where model boats stage battle recreations for spectators. This tradition of miniature combat displays has been running for more than 80 years.
