Sherbrooke St Gilbert's Church is a Gothic-style church located on Nithsdale Road in the Pollokshields area. The building features stone walls, stained glass windows, and a spacious interior decorated with religious artworks.
The church was completed in 1900 following designs by William Forsyth McGibbon and was originally known as Sherbrooke United Free Church. It later merged with St Gilbert's Parish, resulting in the combined name it carries today.
The congregation maintains active ties with the Church of Scotland and welcomes visitors to regular services held throughout the week. The space also serves the neighborhood by hosting community gatherings and life events beyond worship.
The building is accessible via Dumbreck railway station, which is located nearby and serves the area well. Visitors should plan ahead as regular worship services take place, and the church also hosts ceremonies such as weddings and baptisms.
A major fire damaged the building in 1994, but architect James Cuthbertson oversaw a careful restoration completed by 1998. The work preserved the original design while introducing contemporary features that improved the space.
