Sker House

Sker House is a three-story stone mansion with yellow-painted walls and two matching turrets on its east wing. Inside, multiple floors connect through staircases, showing the design typical of important Welsh country houses.

The property started as a Cistercian monastery over nine centuries ago but was completely rebuilt in the late 1500s. This transformation under Jenkin Turberville changed the old monastic site into a Renaissance house.

The house inspired authors who set stories here, making it a place connected to literary tradition. This literary link brings readers and researchers who want to understand where certain tales originated.
