Salem Chapel, East Budleigh, Grade II* listed chapel in East Budleigh, England.
Salem Chapel features stone-rendered walls, a slate roof with hipped sides, and an adjacent assembly room with a basement underneath the structure.
Built in 1719 and expanded in 1836, the chapel obtained additional galleries to accommodate its growing Presbyterian congregation during the religious revival period.
The chapel contains an 18th-century clock in its central gallery, late 19th-century benches, and original box pews preserved in the upper galleries.
The Historic Chapels Trust completed an £858,000 restoration in 1998, replacing the central iron post with steel and renovating the building's structure.
Local legends connect the chapel to smuggling activities, with contraband goods reportedly hidden in its large roof space during the 18th century.
