Seaview Wildlife Encounter, Zoo in Seaview, England.
Seaview Wildlife Encounter was a wildlife park on the Isle of Wight that spread across Nettlestone and Seaview and displayed various animal species including flamingos, pelicans, otters, and penguins. The grounds also provided a cafeteria and a gift shop for visitors to enhance their stay.
The wildlife park opened in 1971 under the name Flamingo Park and operated its facilities continuously for four decades. It closed its gates in November 2015, ending a long history of animal care in the region.
The facility served as a place where visitors could experience close encounters with animals such as wallabies and ducks in hands-on settings. These direct interactions made each visit a personal experience that went beyond simple observation.
The grounds were easily accessible with pathways for visitors to explore various animal enclosures. It was wise to arrive in the morning to see the animals active and avoid long queues.
The park housed Humboldt Penguins from South America, a collection of exotic birds rarely seen elsewhere. These Antarctic dwellers were a highlight for many visitors exploring the grounds.
