St Ceidio's Church, Medieval church in Llannerch-y-medd, Wales

St Ceidio's Church is a church building in Llannerch-y-medd, Wales, featuring rubble masonry walls with freestone dressing and a stone bellcote at its western end. Access comes through a round-headed doorway in the north wall, opening into a unified interior where the nave and chancel meet at a single step.

A church has occupied this site since 630, though the current structure was rebuilt in 1845 using materials from a 14th-century building that preceded it. These overlapping periods show centuries of continuous religious life at the location.

The church sits within a raised circular churchyard known as llan in Welsh, reflecting ancient Celtic Christian settlement patterns. This distinctive layout shapes how visitors experience the sacred space today.

Access is straightforward from the north side of the building through a round-headed doorway that leads directly inside. The flat, connected interior with just one step between the nave and chancel makes the space easy to navigate.

The interior preserves a 14th-century east window and a 15th-century font that are original medieval pieces. These two carefully maintained artifacts connect the modern worship space with the religious past of the location.
