The church displays ashlar Magnesian Limestone walls, a green slate roof, and a five-stage west tower with cylindrical stair-turret.
The Grimston family funded the construction between 1845 and 1848 to serve Catholic workers at their local flax mill.
The interior features stained glass windows by notable artists including A.W.N. Pugin, Lusson, Bourdon, and Mayer throughout the structure.
Located on High Street in Clifford, the church maintains regular services and includes parish rooms added during its 150th anniversary.
The crypt beneath the Blessed Sacrament chapel contains remains of child martyr St Domitia, presented by Pope Gregory XVI.
