St Mary's Church, Hartley Wintney

The church displays flint walls, red brick transepts, and a tower, complemented by red-tiled roofs and medieval window configurations throughout the structure.

The nuns of Wintney Priory established this thirteenth-century church, which later received nineteenth-century additions including the transepts and flint tower.

The interior walls preserve thirteenth-century paintings depicting Saint Christopher and Saint George fighting the dragon, representing medieval religious art.

Visitors can access the church on Sundays between Easter and mid-September from 14:30 to 16:30, with Friends of St Mary's members present for information.

The church contains the burial site of Field Marshal Lord Alanbrooke, Winston Churchill's principal military advisor during World War II.
