St. John's Church, Mansfield, Anglican parish church in Mansfield, England.
St. John's Church is an Anglican parish church in Mansfield built in Tudor Gothic style with a high-pitched roof. The building features clerestory windows with geometric tracery patterns and an octagonal spire crowned with a cross.
Architect Henry Isaac Stevens designed the church in 1855, with completion occurring in 1856. The project was primarily financed through a major bequest.
The church is named after Saint John and displays interior walls of Ancaster stone with carved cornices throughout. The baptismal font was crafted from local Mansfield stone and came from a community contribution.
The church accommodates worship services with capacity for around 1,000 visitors and seating for approximately 630 people without advance booking. Services are regularly streamed online, allowing people to participate from anywhere.
A gas explosion occurred during a service in February 1871, injuring people and damaging the building. The structure was subsequently rebuilt with substantial reinforcements.
