Stonehaven Tolbooth, Local history museum in Stonehaven, Scotland.
The Stonehaven Tolbooth stands at the harbor front as a rectangular stone structure with crow-stepped gables and arrow slits on its south-facing wall.
Built around 1553 under George Keith, 5th Earl Marischal, the building initially served as a storehouse during the construction of Dunnottar Castle.
The ground floor exhibits display maritime artifacts, prison items, and local heritage pieces, including an original cell door and Inverbervie punishment stocks.
The museum operates Wednesday through Monday from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM during April to September, and weekends only from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM in winter months.
Three Episcopalian clergymen were imprisoned in this building during the mid-18th century for conducting religious services with more than nine attendees.
