The Charlotte, Music venue in Leicester, England
The Charlotte was a music venue in Leicester situated on Oxford Street opposite De Montfort University. It held around 400 people and hosted live performances regularly.
The establishment was originally named Princess Charlotte in honor of King George IV's daughter. The name changed to The Charlotte in 1990, and it closed in March 2010.
The venue supported rising artists and established performers, including Radiohead, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, Blur, and The Killers throughout its existence.
The venue was easy to reach on foot as it sat on a busy street in the city center with good public transport links. Visitors could explore the area quickly and find parking nearby without difficulty.
After closing, the building went through several transformations and served briefly as a craft beer pub. Today it houses an Asian supermarket and has completely changed its purpose.
