The Old Bakery, Manor Mill & Forge, Historical industrial structures in Branscombe, England.
The Old Bakery, Manor Mill and Forge feature three distinct buildings dedicated to traditional crafts: baking, grain milling, and metalworking.
The National Trust acquired this collection of buildings in 1965, preserving the last traditional working bakery in Devon, which continued operations until 1987.
Each structure demonstrates essential rural trades, with the forge being the only remaining thatched blacksmith workshop in England.
Visitors can observe demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship, explore preserved equipment, and enjoy refreshments in the former bakery tea room.
The Manor Mill maintains its original water wheel mechanism and continues to produce flour through traditional water-powered milling methods.
