Wickham Market Hoard, Archaeological gold coin collection in Suffolk, England
The Wickham Market Hoard contains 840 Iron Age gold staters discovered in a field near Dallinghoo through metal detection activities in 2008.
Dating from 40 BC to 15 AD, this collection of coins represents monetary exchanges and economic activities during the late Iron Age in East Anglia.
The majority of coins originated from the Iceni tribe of East Anglia, while two specimens were minted in Lincolnshire, indicating regional trade connections.
Visitors can examine the complete Wickham Market Hoard collection at Ipswich Museum, which acquired these artifacts for £316,000 in June 2011.
This assemblage stands as the largest collection of British Iron Age gold coins ever studied in its entirety by archaeological researchers.
