Worden Park

Worden Park is a Grade II listed park in Leyland featuring extensive meadows, woodlands, and playing fields across its grounds. The space also contains formal gardens designed with traditional English landscape elements that characterize the entire area.

The estate has origins dating to 1230 and was long owned by the Farington Family before becoming public property. In 1950, Leyland Urban District Council took control and opened the grounds to the public.

The craft center showcases traditional skills practiced by local artisans who offer workshops in various creative disciplines throughout the year. Visitors can observe and participate in these hands-on activities.

The grounds are open daily with varying hours depending on the season, closing earlier in winter and later in summer. Free parking is available for visitors, making car access straightforward.

Since the Green Flag program began, this location has received the award continuously, reflecting its high quality standard. This recognition demonstrates consistent care and management maintained over many years.
