The church construction began in the 13th century, with additions in the 14th and 15th centuries, including the reconstruction of two eastern arcade bays.
The Milgate Chantry, located north of the aisle, represents a religious structure that shifted ownership to Milgate House after its suppression in 1536.
The church conducts regular Sunday services at 9:30 AM in the main building and contemporary informal services at 10:30 AM in The Memorial Hall.
The churchyard contains the burial site of John Dyke, the final person executed by hanging at Penenden Heath in 1830.
