Mill Lane Mill, Grade II listed windmill in Carbrooke, England
Mill Lane Mill is a five-story tower structure built to harness wind power for grain milling. The building features a boat-shaped cap on top and a fantail mechanism that automatically adjusts to changing wind directions.
The mill was built in 1856 to replace an earlier post mill that had stood since 1811. A steam engine was added in 1888 to provide supplementary grinding power when wind conditions were insufficient.
