Milton Court, English country house in Dorking, Surrey
Milton Court spans across seven bays with shaped gables, featuring intricate fireplaces, detailed ceilings, and a surrounding stone-carved balustrading.
The property transformed from a priory to a country house when George Evelyn acquired it during the Protestant Reformation in the seventeenth century.
Victorian architect William Burges expanded the structure by adding twenty rooms, including the Flower room, which displays advanced craftsmanship techniques.
The building now functions as the UK headquarters for Unum Group, which maintains the historical elements while adapting the space for modern use.
The forecourt walls, terrace, piers, urns, and stone-carved ball finial received Grade II* listing protection on June 11, 1973.
