The building originated in the late 17th century, received an additional tall wing during the 18th century, and underwent further modifications in 1899.
The subdivision of this Grade II listed building into three separate residences reflects the evolution of English country estates in modern times.
Access to the property is now through a new entry drive from the Frog Lane roundabout at the southern end of the Alderley Edge bypass.
Between 2001 and 2005, a section of the complex comprising two renovated barns belonged to England footballer David Beckham.
