The red brick building at 1 Clapham Road features a cruciform layout with separate ward wings connected by corridors and bridges.
Established in 1866 in Pimlico, the hospital moved to Kennington in 1903 and operated until 1985 when services transferred to King's College Hospital.
The hospital wards contained ceramic tiles depicting nursery rhymes, while the entrance hall displayed decorative gold mosaic patterns.
The Grade II listed structure now functions as residential apartments, with a portion of the building operating as a medical clinic for international patients.
The building design incorporated isolated ward wings, allowing complete separation of sections during infectious disease outbreaks.
