This site operated as a coal mine for many years before closure. The mining waste heap was later converted into a recreational destination for forest visitors.
The Roll of Honour sculpture here tells the story of mining through metal pieces representing coal, iron, and stone extraction. It stands as a reminder of the people who worked in these pits.
