Northfleet Urban Country Park, Public park in Northfleet, England
Northfleet Urban Country Park is a green space in Northfleet covering grasslands and broadleaf woodland areas connected by various pathways. The landscape features open grassy sections mixed with wooded areas and a network of walkways throughout.
The site was originally an orchard before becoming a chalk pit in the 1940s and later serving as a refuse tip for several decades. In 1996 the land was transformed into a public park for the community.
The park serves as a meeting place where local people gather throughout the year for outdoor activities and social moments. You will notice families, joggers, and neighbors using the open spaces naturally during different seasons.
The park can be entered from Vale Road and Springhead Road, giving access to different areas within the grounds. Opening hours follow natural daylight, so plan visits between sunrise and sunset for full access.
The park was built up with large quantities of cleaned topsoil to raise the ground level several meters higher. This foundation work was essential to create a safe and usable space over the former quarry and landfill site.
