White Park Bay, Protected bay and sandy beach in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

White Park Bay is a protected bay with a broad sandy shoreline stretching between two chalk headlands on the North Antrim coast. The beach curves gently between these white cliffs that rise steeply from the water and sand.

The National Trust took over protection of the bay in 1938, preserving ancient dunes that hold many Neolithic artifacts and early settlements. This acquisition safeguarded one of the region's most important archaeological sites from damage and change.

Local farmers allow cattle to roam freely on the sand, a long-standing practice that naturally manages the dune landscape. This sight of grazing animals along the shore reflects how daily life and nature have intertwined here over generations.

The water has strong currents that make swimming risky, so visitors should stay near the shore or enjoy the beach without entering the sea. There are no restrooms or food options nearby, so bring what you need for your visit.

The chalk cliffs contain fossils from the late Cretaceous period, including Belemnitella creatures that lived in ancient seas millions of years ago. Walking along the cliff base, you can sometimes spot these stone remnants of long-vanished marine life.
