St Catherine's Argyle Church

St Catherine's Argyle Church features grey stone construction with pink granite pillars, and stands prominently in the Grange neighborhood of Edinburgh.

The church began as Chalmers Memorial Free Church in 1861, later merging with Argyle Place United Presbyterian Church to form the current congregation in 1968.

The first minister of the church was Horatius Bonar, a Scottish churchman who contributed numerous hymns to Protestant religious traditions.

The church holds Sunday services at 10:30 AM and maintains facilities for community meetings and group activities throughout the week.

A fire at Argyle Place Church in 1974 changed initial merger plans, leading to St Catherine's becoming the primary worship center instead of auxiliary halls.
