The church features a broad clock tower, six-bay nave with north and south aisles, and octagonal piers supporting a clerestory with timber roof beams.
The structure dates primarily from the 15th century, with portions of 12th-century stonework discovered during renovations in 1871 within the medieval building.
King Edward VII attended a service at St Mary's Church during his visit to the Earl of Clarendon in July 1909.
The church holds Sunday Morning Worship at 10:30 am both in-person and online, with private prayer sessions available Monday through Saturday.
The Essex Chapel contains burials of the Earls of Essex and features a collection of ornate monuments and elaborate tomb designs from 1595.
