King John's House, Medieval museum in Romsey, England

King John's House consists of three connected buildings with stone-quoined flint walls and a notable early English window featuring dog-tooth details on its west wall.

Originally built around 1230 as a hunting lodge for King John, the structure later served as an Infirmary Guest House for Romsey Abbey under Henry III's reign.

The museum maintains monthly historical presentations, art displays, and educational programs that highlight the local heritage spanning eight centuries of Hampshire history.

Visitors can access the museum through pre-booked tours and enjoy meals at Miss Moody's Tudor Tea Room, which operates from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

The building contains medieval wall paintings and carved decorations from the 13th century, including a rare medieval merchant's mark discovered during restoration.
