Piers Court, Grade II* listed building in Stinchcombe, England.

Piers Court is a country house featuring seven bays across two stories, built from local stone in Palladian architectural style. Inside, it retains a stone staircase with wooden balusters, mahogany handrails, and original sash windows with intact glazing bars throughout.

The current structure was built at the end of the 18th century by John Wallington, who incorporated elements from an earlier 16th-century building on the site. This blending of two different periods shaped the character of the house as it exists today.

The novelist Evelyn Waugh made this his home and workplace from 1937 to 1956, producing several of his most celebrated novels here. The building became a gathering place for literary circles during this period.

The house sits in a rural setting and is visible from surrounding paths and roads, though it remains in private ownership. Visitors should note that the grounds are not open to the public and can only be viewed from outside.

The property went to auction in 2022 without allowing potential buyers to view the interior, as it remained occupied by tenants at the time. This unusual selling process makes it a remarkable moment in the building's recent history.
