The stone building features Norman arches in the south arcade, an early 14th-century chancel screen, and a tower that replaced the original spire in 1731.
The church foundation dates to 1150, with the oldest parts including three Norman arches from the late 12th century marking a transition to early English architecture.
Inside the church lies a stone effigy and chest tomb of Sir Nicholas de Cantilupe from 1266, representing medieval funeral art of Derbyshire nobility.
The church holds regular services including an 8 AM Traditional Communion and 10 AM Family Communion, with a Children's Club on the second and fourth Sundays.
The church contains an organ from 1831, originally located in Paddington, which according to records was played by composer Mendelssohn.
