Wimbourne House

Wimbourne House is a Neo-Palladian townhouse at 22 Arlington Street with a west front overlooking Green Park and features several grand reception rooms and event spaces. The building combines elegant proportions with functional rooms designed for various occasions.

Henry Pelham commissioned architect William Kent in 1743 to design the house, with construction continuing until 1754. This period marked a time of significant political influence and architectural growth in Westminster.

The house reflects how 18th-century British nobility preferred to design their homes, with balanced proportions and classical details that still shape its formal character. The rooms show how wealthy families once lived and entertained their guests.

The house was known under different names, from Beaufort House to Hamilton House, until Sir Ivor Bertie Guest established its current name. These name changes reflect the shifting owners and their personal stories throughout its past.
