The Old White Hart Inn, Grade II listed pub in Kingston upon Hull, England
The Old White Hart Inn is a pub and restaurant housed in a Grade II* listed building in the centre of Kingston upon Hull. It spans two floors, with dark wood paneling covering most walls, a curved ceramic bar, and several separate dining and drinking areas.
The building was constructed around 1660, originally serving travelers and merchants passing through the city. It was substantially renovated in 1881, when most of the interior woodwork and the ceramic bar were installed.
The Plotting Parlour on the first floor is named after the secret meeting that took place there, and visitors can still sit at the old table where the decision was reportedly made. Locals and tourists alike use the name, which has become part of everyday speech in Hull.
The pub sits in the centre of Hull and is easy to reach on foot from most nearby points of interest. Free private parking is available for guests, which is worth knowing if you are arriving by car.
The kitchen is run by the Anti Saute Saute Club, a cooking collective that takes classic pub dishes in a more current direction. The name itself is a deliberate play on the language of fine dining, turned on its head.
