Ashcombe House, English country house in St Ann Without, East Sussex, Great Britain

The L-shaped Ashcombe House features two storeys constructed with grey headers, complemented by red brick dressings, quoins, and a modillion cornice.

Built in the 18th century as a farmhouse, Ashcombe House served as the Vice-Chancellor's residence for the University of Sussex from 1963 to 1981.

The architectural features of Ashcombe House represent the Georgian country house design principles, incorporating local building materials and traditional craftsmanship.

Located near Brighton Road, the entrance consists of a stone porch accessed by four steps, leading to a six-paneled door.

The structure combines flint and red brick on its sides, with three dormers displaying segmental heads and intact glazing bars.
