Pecorama, Railway-themed tourist attraction in Beer, England
Pecorama is a hilltop complex featuring model railway exhibitions, gardens, and a miniature train ride with views over the Devon countryside and sea. The site brings together several attractions in one location across different themed areas.
The site was developed to document British railway history through model railway displays. A Golden Arrow Pullman carriage at the entrance reflects the early days of modern railway travel in the 20th century.
The model railway displays showcase detailed layouts that reflect British craftsmanship on a miniature scale. Visitors can observe the careful attention given to every small detail throughout the exhibitions.
The site sits on a hillside, so wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore multiple areas. The best views of the sea and countryside can be found from various elevated spots across the grounds.
The Beer Heights Light Railway runs for about 1 mile with a remarkable route through steep-sided cuttings and a tunnel carved through the rock. This miniature railway was built by railway enthusiasts and takes visitors on a journey across the grounds.
