Tu Hwnt i'r Bont

Tu Hwnt i'r Bont is a stone building in Trefriw, Wales, situated next to Pont Fawr bridge along the River Conwy. The house serves as a traditional teahouse today and maintains its original architectural features beneath layers of climbing ivy.

The building was constructed in 1480 as a residential dwelling and later served as a courthouse during the 16th century for the surrounding area. This early administrative role shaped its significance in the local community.

The name Tu Hwnt i'r Bont comes from Welsh and means 'Beyond the Bridge'. The place is cherished by locals as a center for Welsh tea culture and language traditions.
