St Mary's Church, Little Crosby

St Mary's Church is a Gothic Revival church in Little Crosby built from sandstone with a three-stage tower and pointed spire. Multiple-light windows punctuate the walls, and angled buttresses at the corners give the structure its distinctive shape.

The church was built between 1845 and 1847 on land the Blundell family had owned since medieval times. William Blundell financed the construction, showing his commitment to the community and this location.

The church is dedicated to Saint Mary and features an interior ceiling painted with scenes from Marian devotion. This decorated wagon roof shapes how the space feels when you look up inside.

Visitors can enter the church during regular Catholic masses that take place throughout the week. The building is a listed historical monument, so it is generally open to the public, though checking ahead for service times is sensible.

Inside stands a Blundell family memorial with carved scenes depicting episodes from the family story. A tomb beneath features a stone effigy showing William Blundell in repose, marking his role as the church's patron.
