The Red Lion, Grade II listed coaching inn in London Borough of Barnet, England.
The Red Lion is a Grade II listed coaching inn on High Street with a seven-bay facade, central Corinthian doorcase, and bow windows on either side. The neo-Georgian structure displays brick construction with refined architectural detailing throughout.
The building originated in 1439 when it operated under the name Cardinal's Hat, later becoming known as The Antelope. It underwent major reconstruction in 1930 to acquire its current neo-Georgian appearance.
The pub serves as a gathering spot where locals come together for meals, drinks, and social occasions throughout the week. Visitors experience it as an active part of the neighborhood's community life.
The venue sits approximately 450 meters (1,475 feet) from High Barnet underground station and is easily reached on foot. It serves food and drinks throughout the day, with seating available both indoors and at an outdoor area.
A carved red lion figure mounted on a wrought iron bracket decorates the exterior and serves as the building's signature detail. This distinctive emblem is what most visitors notice first when approaching from the street.
