XOYO, Dance club in Shoreditch, England
XOYO is a two-floor club on Cowper Street in Shoreditch, housed in a former industrial building. The interior features exposed brick walls and metal piping, giving the space a raw, warehouse feel across both levels.
XOYO opened in 2010, part of a wave of London clubs that turned empty industrial spaces into music venues around that time. Over the following years it became a regular stop for international DJs passing through the city.
XOYO draws people from many corners of London's music world, mixing electronic nights with hip-hop events and live shows. The crowd tends to be mixed in age and background, which gives the place a less exclusive feel than many other London clubs.
The club sits in Shoreditch, a central part of London well served by public transport, with several tube stations within walking distance. Tickets for popular nights tend to sell out in advance, so checking the schedule and booking early is a good idea.
The basement of XOYO is known for a sound system that was partly designed with input from engineers who normally work on festival stages. Some artists choose the room specifically for its acoustics rather than its size.
