The Olde Wine Shades occupies a three-story structure with wooden beams, traditional furnishings, and a preserved cellar accessible through stone steps.
Built in 1663 as a merchant's house, the establishment remained standing through the Great Fire of 1666 and continued operations through centuries of London's development.
The underground tunnel, once connecting the building to the Thames River for merchant trading, now serves as a private dining space with historical artifacts.
Located near Monument Station, the venue provides spaces for private events, including the Dickens Room for 6 guests and the cellar area for 16 seated persons.
The original merchant tunnel entrance remains visible in the cellar, despite being sealed following bomb damage during the London Blitz of 1940.
