Willow Creek Community Church

Willow Creek Community Church is an evangelical congregation in South Barrington, a suburb of Chicago in Illinois. The main campus includes multiple buildings and a large auditorium with seating for several thousand people.

Bill Hybels and Dave Holmbo started the congregation in 1975 in a movie theater in Palatine. The group later moved to South Barrington, where it built its current campus.

The main campus sits in the northwest Chicago suburbs and draws worshippers from across the metropolitan area. Services follow a contemporary format with modern music and multimedia presentations.

The congregation operates several sites around the Chicago area with services on different weekdays. Some locations offer Spanish-language options and programs for different age groups.

The congregation founded the Willow Creek Association in 1992, an organization for training and exchange among religious leaders. This network now supports faith communities in many countries.
