The Freer Gallery of Art is a Smithsonian Institution museum of Asian art located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Founded in 1923, it was the first Smithsonian museum dedicated to fine arts.
The gallery houses an extensive collection of Asian art, including Chinese ceramics and bronzes, Japanese folding screens, and Persian manuscripts.
Admission to the Freer Gallery of Art is free of charge.
It holds the largest collection of works by James McNeill Whistler, including the famous 'Peacock Room'.
